By Candle & Flame is a foundational workshop in candle magic. We will be exploring  different techniques while discussing various aspects of the use of candles during spell-work and your daily practice. We aim to offer practical skills and various methods to form a foundational practice and understanding of how to perform a successful working with candles and why we may work with the processes we do.

Topics that will be covered:

-How to perform effective workings

- Sympathetic candle magic

- Divination

- Navigating ingredients to work with

About your Facilitator: 

Brandon Bearman (he/they) is the creator and operator of Dark Forest Botanica and the co-owner of the acclaimed specialist store Elfhame. He is a Wildwood Witchcraft initiate and teacher, Reclaiming witch, and folkloric witch who focuses on community stewardship and care, magical relating, and sorcerous development. Brandon's teachers have been/are Xander Hunter, Toad, Fio Gede Parma, Justin Ray Stanley, Rion Kallady, the Wildwood Tradition and community at large, the Godds named Apollo and Hekate, the spirits of place, particularly those on Mount Corhanwarrabul in Wurundjeri Country, plant allies he is in relationship with, and of course his ancestors.

Brandon has been a professional Tarot and palm-reader for 13years and has worked in and out of occult and metaphysical stores since 2011. He lives with his beloved partner in unceded Wurundjeri Country in the beautiful, sacred hills surrounding Naarm. Brandon has studied western herbal medicine and health sciences for years and applies a braid of bodies of knowledge together to help support and serve the people who seek him out. Brandon loves nothing more than to invest sacred time and energy into his Craft and Community, enjoying the pleasure and play of life's seasons, and honouring the connections that join us together.

The workshop space has a small kitchenette with access to water, a fridge, microwave and kettle. Toilet facilities are also available for participants. Please bring a snack if needed.
